Our annual trip to the Texas Renaissance festival took place on Saturday October 13. We had a nice crowd this year with most of our usual group and a few new faces. I think all the new faces had a nice time and will probably become regulars. The weather was a little uncooperative and except for one November weekend a few years back it probably was the worst we've had, but wasn't to bad. It rained early and lingered on till early afternoon, but there are lots of places to get out of the rain and we just dealt with it. The wine tasting was another hit and will continue to be a part of our Saturday. We also introduced a few people to the Blue Door and we spent a couple hours there Saturday before heading to Mark & Susan's. Dad and Whitney had managed to get 5lbs of aligator over to Mark's and we fried that up. Some of Amy's homemade pepper jelly made it their and some other assorted snacks along with beer and wine. Except for a couple of us most everyone had rooms at the Hampton Inn, who along with a couple of the other hotels in the area, have a very nice bus service to and from the festival. It's so very nice that we'll all probably be doing it before long.
Because of space issues we've decided to keep the current years photo's on the site and move all of the older years to our archives. This year's (2002) photo's can be found at TRF-2002. All of the past years can be found at our Ren-Fest Archives found here Ren-Fest Archives.
